1980-83-- Apprenticed with Chris Abell at Abell Woodwinds, Concord Ma.
1985 -- "Empty Pockets" album received Grammy Nomination - Best Debut Album (folk). Album features both Irish flute and fife.

1989 -- Named "Master Musician of Rhode Island" by R.I. State Council for the Arts.
1989 -- Grant Recipient - Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (Instructor - Folk Arts Apprenticeship).
1993 -- Established Healy Flute Company in Providence R.I.
2000 -- Solo Recordings added to Ireland's Traditional Music Archive in Dublin, Ireland.
