Skips Blog #8 "On the Road Again in 2010" !!
Submitted by Skip on Wed, 11/25/2009 - 5:49pm.
Hi Everybody!
So, after 7 years in my past location it is time (way PAST time actually...) to get the show on the road again and re-locate into a more favorable setting. After the past 14 months of being unsettled in every concieveable way life is finally settleing down for the ol' HFco and Mr. HF as well. I have just re-located my shop back to the mill I was formally located in at 5 Division Street in Warwick, R.I right on the border between East Greenwich and Warwick. Long time friends of the HFco will recognise this address as I was there for about 7 or 8 years before my past mistake, er, location...
I am REALLY WICKED PSYCHED (thats Rhode Islandese for quite happy indeed) to be in my new location. The move was a bear to do, especially as I was in the middle of building 35 instruments for the U.S. Armys Old Guard fife and drum Corps at the time. I am also WAY REALLY WICKED PSYCHED about that (see above translation). More on that to follow...
One of the things that really impressed me the most about the move is the two men pictured below. They are the "riggers" who moved my machines for me. No easy task believe me as they are REALLY WICKED FREAKIN HEAVY ( getting the dialect yet?) and I thought would have to be disassembled to get them through the doors. However, using concepts as old as the pyramids, (a big metal bar and a couple round metal bars) these two men rolled my machines around like they weighed 10 pounds not 1000 pounds. REALLY impressive. I love to watch people who are good at something do their work, I don't care what it is...
As part of the new and improved web stuff baubles, I will now be adding photos, video and (when able) audio to the blogs and other features of HF.com. I hope you like these features and they intice you to BUY MORE STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More soon, stay tuned!
All the best,
