Skips blog Chapter 6 "Meet me in St. Louis!"
Submitted by Skip on Fri, 04/03/2009 - 3:28pm.
Hi Everybody!
My web master Cyber-Space Jedi Obi Wan Gamache has suggested to me that I need to do more blogs and that there is nothing wrong with doing several short ones instead of one longer monthly(ish) one. I asked for feedback and I got it! So here goes!
I am currently in the kitchen of my friends Eric and Charissa Igos' home in beautiful Alton Ill. "What ever are you doing there Skip" you may ask. WELL says I, this IS the birthplace of the tallest man who ever lived, the "gentle giant" Robert Wadlow (at 8'11 of him) and whose life is complete without a photo of yourself next to the life sized statue...
ALSO I should of course mention that I will be popping across the Mighty Mississippi River to be playing in the St. Louis Tionol (http://tionol.org.) which begins tonight with a concert and session in the Saint Louis Brewery Taproom at 2100 Locust. We'll be doing a concert at 7:30 till about 9:30 and then there'll be sessions till they close.
Saturday is at Nerinx Hall H.S. at 530 E. Lockwood in Webster Groves. Parking is around the back come in along the west side of the building. Registration is at 9 and classes start at 9:30 and go to 12 and then start up again at 1:30 and go to 4.
The evening concert is at the Union Ave. Opera House, 733 Union Blvd. at 8PM. Afterwards people go back to the Taproom for more sessions. Sunday is at John D. McGurk's at 12th and Russell and starts at 10:30 am. They'll have a brunch bufffet. Lots more tunes.
I think that's everything you need to know so come on out and join the fun.
All the best, buy more stuff!
